Wellsburg Police

Steubenville Police

Arrest made: A city resident is facing multiple charges in connection with a March 23 shooting incident in the 100 block of Brondus Avenue, Saturday. DeWayne Rosser, 57, 509 Ross St., Steubenville, was charged with aggravated menacing, discharging a firearm over a street and having a weapon under disability, police said. Rosser allegedly "came to the residence and told (a man) to meet him outside" and when he did, "drew a firearm and fired one round before running back to his vehicle" and fleeing the scene, police said at the time.

Touchy: An Oak Grove Avenue resident said her daughter's boyfriend bumped into someone else in her home and then assaulted the other man, Monday. Police said the victim had dried blood and several marks on his face but denied medical treatment. He did tell police he wants to pursue charges.

Rude: Someone abandoned a badly wrecked vehicle in a private drive in the 3000 block of county Road 26, Monday. Police were able to determine the vehicle had gone off the left side of the roadway, just outside city limits and crashed into a metal pole before going into a ravine and ending in the creek. They said it was pulled out by a strap "and abandoned in the middle of (the) driveway." Police had the vehicle towed and issued the owner a ticket for blocking a driveway.

Thefts charged: Police said Wal-Mart employees claimed a woman skip-scanned household items valued at $455 and tried to leave the store without paying, Monday. They also told police the same woman had walked out of the store Thursday with nearly $60 in cleaning supplies and showed police video of both incidents. Police said they charged Stacey M. West, 54, 811 Market St., Apt. H, Steubenville, with theft as well as trespassing after discovering she was under a lifetime ban from the store.

Big hit: A Colliers woman told police she struck a yellow cement sign pole on Mall Drive after she had to swerve to miss a vehicle that pulled out of the Wal-Mart lot in front of her, Monday. Police said her vehicle had heavy front-end damage.

Stolen: A city resident reported a package containing 45 different medications was stolen from her porch, March 19.
