Relationship issues: A resident in the 100 block of Greenwich Avenue told police he and his girlfriend were fighting, Wednesday. Police said his girlfriend "was somewhat hostile and bothered" that police were at the residence and after they told her a complaint had been called in said the two of them had been driving in Wintersville earlier in the day and arguing. She claimed he was "going crazy" and when she pulled over, he "damaged her gear shifter and shattered her windshield." She said they continued to argue when they got home "before engaging in mutual combat," telling police "he pulled her hair and caused other physical harm in areas of her body that would not leave marks." She claimed that "at one point he had a knife in one hand and a machete in the other and she picked up a baseball bat" before he walked outside and called police. She said officers should be talking to him and said she didn't want police involved in the dispute. Police said at that point the male started talking to them through their Ring camera, advising "he heard the allegations made against him and denied them." He said he'd called police to have her removed from the residence and insisted she was fighting with him, adding he'd left to avoid further issues and wouldn't return that night. He wasn't interested in pursuing charges, either. When they suggested the couple should pursue civil protection orders and advised the male to formally evict his girlfriend, police said "neither appeared to want to do either" though they began "arguing and bickering back and forth through the door camera and neither wished to cooperate any further with the investigation."

Love struck: A man in the 700 block of Market Street had a bloodied lip but he told police he "bit his lip while yelling" during an argument with his wife, Tuesday. Callers had told police they could hear the couple fighting in the apartment, but the couple initially said nothing physical had occurred. When police spotted broken glass and liquid on the floor, the male said his wife had "pushed items off the kitchen table" but refused to admit his lip had been bloodied "from contact with (his wife.)" Neither of them wanted to pursue charges, and the male said he would leave for the night.

Misdirected: A trucker using GPS to get him to his destination at the mall clipped a utility pole, causing "some type of electrical disturbance," Tuesday. Police tracked the driver down and said he told them his GPS directed him to Lovers Lane but saw the "road closed" signs and rerouted onto Bryden Road. When he attempted a right turn onto Lovers Lane he said he "had to back up and maneuver to negotiate the turn." He said he saw a flash but was unaware he had struck anything. Police said his rig had no visible damage other than a mud flap arm that was "slightly bent."

Road hazard: Someone was tossing toys and other items out a window at Fort Steuben Apartments onto the 300 block of Washington Street, Wednesday. Police said the items were in the road but an employee was on scene picking the items up. Police attempted to make contact with residents at several apartments on the seventh floor of the apartment complex that had open windows but no one would come to the door.

Simmering: A woman said she was in the area of the Lawson Avenue overpass when another female stopped her vehicle and threatened her, Wednesday. She said she's had problems with the other woman in the past.

Reported: Callers complained that juveniles on scooters were "attempting to hit customers" in the Hollywood Plaza parking lot, Tuesday. Police didn't see any violations when they arrived.

Dirty laundry: A Greenwich Avenue resident told police she was getting clothes out of the dryer when a couple walked out the door with a bag of clothes she'd left at the door to the laundromat, Tuesday.

Helping himself: Police were told a man who entered Rural King two weeks ago wearing tennis shoes left wearing a $210 pair of Ariat boots he didn't pay for, Wednesday. Employees showed police video of the man selecting and paying for several other items before exiting the store.

Kids play: A caller complained three males were dumpster diving in the 2800 block of Sunset Boulevard, but police said three juveniles riding electric scooters told them they were actually "jumping off the dumpster," Wednesday. The kids apologized and police advised them to stay off the property.

Don't do it: A Hopedale woman said her Facebook account was hacked a few days ago and when she called what she thought was customer service a male convinced her to download Anydesk app so he could "co-browse" with her, Wednesday. She told deputies the man told her there was crypto activity on her account and had her upload pictures of the front and back of her driver's license. Once she did she said she got nervous about him being able to browse her computer and hung up, then deleted the app. She said the man tried calling her back but she didn't answer, then he sent her a text with a name and phone number claiming to be Meta customer support. She said she's contacted the major credit reporting agencies already but wanted a report on file.
