Mingo Junction Police
Cited: Louise Bittinger, 58, overtaking/passing to left of center, 1588 State Route 43, Lot 62, Richmond, April 19. Police allegedly observed Bittinger's vehicle turn left out of the Mingo Junction Dollar General parking lot and onto Wilson Avenue. The vehicle then allegedly overtook the left lane and drove in the wrong direction, passing four vehicles that were stationary on the road in the school zone.

Steubenville Police
Unsavory: The manager of the Sunoco station on South Seventh Street told police a man who pulled up to the store, parked near the door and began smoking spewed profanities at him when he asked him to move, Thursday. He said the man, who fled in a white Chevy Suburban, also spit in his direction.
Acting strange: A woman in the 400 block of South Fifth Street wanted police to get her back in her apartment and, a male who she thought was inside it, out on Thursday. She told police the man "had been acting oddly and allegedly threatened to shoot her" two days earlier, but she hadn't reported it. She claimed he'd only been living there for four or five days before she fled and when police asked if he had keys to the residence, she said she'd lost them two weeks earlier and hadn't been given a new one by her building's management. The male didn't answer the door when police knocked so they had the building manager unlock it, and after making sure he wasn't inside advised her not to let him back in.
Outraged mother: A Ridge Avenue mother told police a business owner had suggested her kids spray painted their names on the side of a business, but the mom insisted they weren't responsible, Thursday. Police said the mother was "very upset" and said she's had ongoing problems with another woman on the hill.
Dogged: A North Sixth Avenue resident said a dog walked into his apartment, Thursday. Police saw the dog outside a nearby apartment along with several juveniles who lived there trying unsuccessfully to catch it. An adult female previously cited for dog-at-large was trying to catch it, but police said "she left the area before the animal was caught." Police were unable to locate the dog.
Family fight: Police responded to a disturbance in the 1400 block of Euclid Avenue involving a juvenile, his older brother and his mother, Thursday. They said the juvenile was upset because his brother stole $20 from him. His brother eventually admitted it, and the mother wanted the juvenile removed and eventually asked the older boy to leave. Police said there were "numerous threats made throughout the interaction between the brothers and mother, including the mother threatening to shoot the older boy. Once they calmed down, the older boy stated he would "leave the residence and wait on the porch for a ride," but police later found out he stayed, and the juvenile left the home.
Booked: Walmart employees told police they saw a woman "skip-scan" merchandise and try to leave without paying, Thursday. Tonya K. Ingram, 45, 3205 West St. (Rear), Weirton, was booked for misdemeanor theft, police said.
Fuss: A North Eighth Street resident told police a neighbor had accused her of stealing an Amazon package, Thursday.
Thefts: Walmart employees turned over footage of four shoplifting incidents as well as an individual caught on video "possibly violating a trespass order and a judicial no contact order," Thursday. Police said footage shows a person stealing from the store on Feb. 2 and again on Feb. 7, and another person seen twice last week leaving without paying for merchandise. Police are investigating all three individuals.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to the owner/occupants of properties at 1420 Oregon Ave., 1232 Wellesley Ave., 1233 Wellesley Ave., 1322 Wellesley Ave., 1334 Wellesley Ave., 1510 Euclid Ave., 1526 Euclid Ave., all for high grass/weeds. Also, 1324 Wellesley Ave., litter piled next to front porch and high grass/weeds.

Jefferson County Sheriff
Unnerving: A family living on State Route 43 told deputies someone shot into their house, Thursday. The homeowner said there was a bullet hole in their front window and they dug bullet fragments out of their wall. They said the shot was fired "from the direction of the road" but no one was in the room at the time.
Poaching 'shrooms: A Bloomingdale woman reported a man was picking mushrooms in her woods, but she'd chased him off, Thursday. Police located a pickup with mushrooms on the floorboards, but it wasn't on her property, and she wasn't sure it had been.
