Not picking up: A Beverly Lane resident complained her neighbor had "disrespected her" by yelling an expletive-laced demand that she pick up her dogs' feces, Friday. She said she's "not going to be talked to like that" and "there's no way to know whose dog feces it is" since she has four dogs and the neighbor has three. She said when she got home that evening she discovered "someone threw dog feces on her back door." The neighbor denied being rude to her and said all he did was pick up her dogs' feces because "they are constantly going to the restroom in (his) half of the yard." His girlfriend said she went out and picked it up because the caller refused to do it and admitted she threw it and the paper towel she'd used on the woman's porch but said she didn't realize it hit the door. Her boyfriend agreed to clean it off the door to calm things. Deputies told them if the problems continued the landlord would have to be notified.

Wouldn't budge: A pregnant Oakmont Avenue woman told police her boyfriend accidentally kneed her stomach when he tried to grab her phone out of her hand, Thursday. She told police they'd been arguing about their children acting up and he didn't want her calling anyone while she was upset. Police said she was asked several times if she thought she was in danger or if she wanted him to leave, but each time she insisted it was strictly a verbal disagreement and she wanted him there because her pregnancy is high-risk. She also denied being afraid of him. Her boyfriend told police it had been strictly a verbal disagreement. Police advised them to separate for the night.
Couldn't help her: Police encountered a woman crying behind a building in the 700 block of North Fourth Street, Thursday. Once backup arrived the vehicle was towed and officers gave chase, finding the driver's cell phone and a broken fence. Police asked the prosecutor to consider charges of driving under OVI suspension and failure to signal a turn.

Third time's the charm: Police advised a man to leave the carnival at the Fort Steuben Mall "due to his persistent poor behavior," Wednesday. They said a woman flagged them down to remove two men fighting near the bumper cars and found the man on the ground, "holding his head and rolling around." They'd already spoken to him twice that day and had seen him earlier in the day arguing with the same male subject and suggested he stay away from him, but he was back at it again a few minutes later. Police said as they approached the man "began to smile and stated he was joking around," but when he balked at identifying himself they handcuffed him and took him to a cruiser where he decided it was in his best interest to provide his information, and this time when they told him he needed to leave the property he obliged.

Ongoing issues: A South Sixth Street resident said she let her child stay with his father and gave him her food stamp card to get the child something to eat only to discover $400 missing from her account, Thursday. She said when he brought her son back her ex was accompanied by the couple he'd been staying with and they started arguing. She claimed the other woman spit on her, but the other woman said the child's mother was the one doing the spitting. No spittle was seen on anyone and the visitors denied having had her card. Police told all them all they need to "cease contact with each other as there are numerous police reports involving these individuals fighting and causing disturbances as well as taking each other's food stamp cards and other items." All were advised to seek protection orders.
Scared: An Oakmont Avenue resident said someone was on her porch, Friday. She said she returned home just after midnight and as she was walking to her door believed she heard someone behind her telling her to "come here," but she didn't see anyone. They suggested she try to get security cameras.
Drugs: Police arriving at an Arlington Avenue location said a man was performing sternum rubs to resuscitate a woman who collapsed at his front door, Friday. She said he didn't want to watch them so she told him she was getting off early and to drop off her child, but when he arrived, he "climbed in the window and took something that he (said) was his." She said she didn't know what he took and was certain it didn't belong to her, but as they continued to argue he pushed her.
