Creepy behavior: A man was advised not to return to J.C. Penney for any reason after an employee allegedly spotted him following a female shopper and her juvenile daughter around the store and taking pictures of them, Friday. The woman told police the male "then left the store and stood outside on the phone by his car ... which was parked next to hers" for several minutes, and said when she saw him coming back into the store, she hid from him and he finally left. Two employees told police they saw him standing behind the woman "secretly taking pictures of her and her daughter while her back was turned." One employee said he'd told her "she looked too young to be a manager and that they way he acted with her made her feel uncomfortable." Police left the store with the man's license plate number and a picture of his vehicle and located him in the Lowe's lot. When they told him why they'd been looking for him police said he initially advised "he did not understand the reasoning for (them) stopping him and that he did not take any pictures of any females," but after they told him employees saw him taking the pictures he claimed "he and his buddy play a game of who can take a picture of the most attractive female" and said he "wasn't attempting to take a picture of the juvenile (or) scare anyone." He showed police a "blurry picture (of the woman) but the juvenile was not real visible," they said.

Police said the woman was "extremely irate" and said he doesn't live there and she wasn't letting him in. They said after screaming at them the woman went back in and retrieved some of his things, but when he asked for his watch she "began screaming out of the top window that he pawned the watch for drugs." He eventually left the area.

He was advised to follow up with the prosecutor and courts for possible charges, a protection order and an eviction notice.

The group left the store with just over $45 in merchandise that hadn't been paid for, police said. Unfortunately for them, employees were able to research the debit card used to pay for the rest of the items and gave police the information.

Asking for trouble: A city resident said he was walking past Fort Steuben Apartments when he "exchanged words" with a woman who "called him a pedophile and a rapist," Saturday. While he was talking to police a man began yelling at him as well and police had to keep the two of them apart. Police said they were "antagonizing each other ... and threatening to fight one another." The woman who instigated the original conflict told police she doesn't want anything to do with the man who'd been walking by the building, but police pointed out "she still chose to speak with him and initiated the argument." She was advised to stop, and the man was advised to stay away from the property.

Later in the shift he called police back to the residence, telling them he thought a juvenile living behind him was responsible and asked police to speak with the child or his guardian. An adult at the other residence said they'd been sleeping and her kids don't have any type of BB or pellet gun.
