Police said they spotted Gordon's car "parked in an area where (they've) been getting complaints about narcotics-related activity," and when they ran the plates discovered a registration block and the owner's license was suspended. After confirming Gordon was driving, police said they pulled the car over and reported finding a bottle containing several large pieces of a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine in an ash tray they said was accessible only to the driver, as well as a napkin wrapped around what police said appeared to be crack cocaine and fentanyl in her pocket. He called back 20 minutes later, demanding they "do something about (her) not releasing the children to him." He said the court personnel told him that he had to call the sheriff's department to enforce the order. The female told deputies he was intoxicated, and said he'd called earlier in the day to talk with the kids and after they "got upset and started to cry" she started recording their conversation. She said her ex said he was coming to her home to get the kids and they "were scared and said they were not going and another of his ex's called to warn her to "watch out" because he was "drunk and on some type of drugs" before he called her and "told her he was going to kill her." Deputies listened to the recordings, which involved a series of expletives directed at his kids and their mother and telling them "don't expect nothing from me,: "I don't want you guys anymore" and "on Monday I'm going to go and say that you're not my kids anymore." She said she would block his number and obtain a protection order.
