Asked for it: Police found two women, nose-to-nose, arguing when they responded to reports of a disturbance in the 200 block of North Seventh Street, Monday. One of the women said they’d driven to the store together when her companion started arguing with everyone. She told police “She just wanted to get away from” the argumentative woman. Police said the argumentative female “would not stop yelling” long enough to give them a statement and insisted they arrest her sparring partner, though when they reviewed the video they discovered the argumentative woman had actually been the aggressor, pushing her companion first.

Driver, passenger arrested: Two men ended up in custody after they allegedly gave police someone else’s name when their car was pulled over after somebody in the car allegedly threw trash out the window in the 200 block of North Fourth Street, Monday. Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol from the car, but the driver said one of his passengers threw alcohol on him, causing him to swerve. Police said Terry Goolsby, 23, of Cleveland and Anthony Whalet, 23, of Akron were both booked into the Jefferson County jail for falsification after they gave them names that didn’t pan out. Once Goolsby was identified, police discovered several warrants for his arrest issued by the adult parole authority and Cuyahoga County for carrying concealed weapons and parole violation. He also was cited by city police for driving without a license.
Recurring problem: A Henry Avenue resident’s estranged wife returned to the residence, “pounding on the back door” in violation of a protection order, Monday. Foolishness: Two women with longstanding issues brawled after a birthday party, Saturday. A witness told deputies one of the women had been passing out cupcakes and had to walk past the other woman, who said something to her. As the cupcake woman was leaving the mouthy female got in her car and started yelling at her, so the two jumped out of their vehicles and started fighting. The witness said the woman who instigated the fight left her kids in a hot car “for almost 40 minutes in 90-degree weather.” When the cupcake woman’s boyfriend tried to break it up the witness said three of the other woman’s male family members jumped him.
