Pipe dreams: A manager at Fort Steuben Apartments checked a residence where neighbors had complained of hearing “banging and sawing sounds” and discovered the individual who’d been living there stole copper pipes for the heating system, Tuesday. Upon entering the apartment she told police she discovered “floor boards and baseboards had been pulled up” and the pipes removed, then the tenant put the boards back in their original position. She checked a previous apartment the same individual had used and said it “appears as if the floor and bases boards were removed, pipes cut and taken and the baseboards replaced.”
Out of sorts: A driver said he was northbound in the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue when his steering wheel “felt odd,” Tuesday. He said he felt something on the driver side front tire area and figured he had a flat tire and recalled “bouncing” off a parked car before he was able to pull over. Neighbors said the owner of the parked vehicle “moved away and left the vehicle behind.” Both vehicles were towed.
Angry ex: A Lincoln Boulevard resident said his ex-girlfriend was harassing him, Tuesday. He said they share a child and had gotten into “a verbal discussion” that upset her to the point she told him she was “going to ‘tap a gun on his head,'” but since the exchange was via phone call, police said he couldn’t provide them proof.
Craged: Police attempting to serve a warrant on a man in the 500 block of Ohio Street said he resisted arrest and ended up with an additional charge, Tuesday. Yuseff Abujoumaa, 36, no fixed address, was taken into custody for allegedly resisting arrest resulting in injury, and served with his outstanding warrant from Steubenville Municipal Court. Police said they spotted Abujoumaa hiding behind a fence and allege he made a run for it when they told him they had a warrant for his arrest, trying to get inside a building. They claim he continued to resist despite repeated warnings.
Pointer: A resident reported seeing a man point his gun at her, Tuesday. He told police he saw a man at his fence line feeding something to his dog, which upset him, and told “everyone to move away from his house.” He said the weapon, later identified as BB gun, was in his pocket the entire time and he did not pull it out.
Pick them better: A Market Street resident said someone he knows used his bank information to transfer money from his bank account into their Paypal account, Tuesday.
Lost: A caller complained a man was sleeping outside Schiappa library, Tuesday. The man told police he was biking from New York to Tennessee and was waiting for the library to open so he could update his directions.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 1506 Oregon Ave., high grass/weed; and 1647 N. Labelle Court and 450 Spring Ave., both for litter and junk piled at sides of residence; and 819 Rosswell Ave., mattresses and indoor furniture piled behind residence.

Longvue Drive residents were arguing over their breakup, and the male asked deputies for assistance because his soon-to-to-be ex was “throwing items out in the yard,” Tuesday. Deputies said the pair had already calmed down by the time they arrived and both advised they were “done” with each other but they both live there “and are unsure what to do.” Deputies told them property questions would have to be decided by a judge and in the meantime one of them should leave, sparking an argument as to who should have to leave. Both “wanted the other out of the house.” The female was told she would have to evict her housemate and she “stated she would do that,” deputies said.
