Teen angst: A Sherman Avenue resident said her teenaged daughter was “tearing up her house” and refusing to go to school, Wednesday. The girl told police she was “figuring out what to wear and looking for her cell phone.” They told her “the clothes she had on were fine and she could find her cell phone after school.”
Getting loud: A caller reported a disturbance in the vicinity of South Sixth Street, Wednesday. Police said a female involved told them she and her husband were arguing over “relationship complications as well as family matters.” She said the disagreement never got physical and she would stay way from him for the remainder of the night.
Wanted out: A caller said a man was refusing to let a woman leave a residence in the 900 block of Market Street, Wednesday. Upon arrival, the woman exited the residence and told police she no longer needed assistance.
Causing problems: Employees at a downtown business said two men were arguing and when they were asked to leave, one of them refused, Wednesday. They said the man left “once he was informed (they’d) contacted police.”
Not enough detail: Someone texted a request for a welfare check on a woman in the 200 block of North Commercial Alley, Wednesday. Police checked in with a homeless couple known to be staying in that area and the female told them she was fine, as did her husband.
Broken: A woman in the 900 block of Adams Street reported a window in the rear of her truck was broken, Wednesday. She said crews using weed eaters nearby may have kicked up a rock.
Code violation: Notice was sent to the owner of vacant lots at Bullock and DiGregory Drive, high grass/weeds.
Cited: Paul Burton-Miner Ward, 1322 Plum St., Steubenville, stop sign violation after two vehicle collision Wednesday on McDowell at Ridge avenues; Nicholas J. Scott, 33, 406 Adams St., Steubenville, turn signal violation; Kloe L. Olivo, 24, 112 Meridian Way, Apt. D, Wintersville, display of plates; David Campbell, 57, 425 Henry Ave., Steubenville, expired plates.
