STEUBENVILLE — McRib fans, the wait is over. It’s coming back.

The iconic sandwich is set to return to McDonald’s restaurants throughout the Tri-State Area on Dec. 3, for a limited time only.

This is far from your typical comeback. For the first time, McDonald’s is offering an even bigger way to celebrate the return of the fabled sandwich by offering hardcore fans half-gallon jugs of its signature, tangy McRib sauce. Fans can snag a jug starting at 10 a.m. Monday at wholelottamcribsauce.com, while supplies last.

The McRib made its debut in the United States in 1981 as a limited-time item in the Kansas City area. It quickly became a fan-favorite thanks to the unmistakable flavor of the seasoned boneless pork patty slathered in BBQ sauce and topped with slivered onions and tart dill pickles, all on a homestyle bun.

The McRib has become a seasonal sensation, captivating fans with its limited availability, sparking social media buzz and igniting a flurry of anticipation each time it makes its return to McDonald’s restaurants.

The McRib is available starting Dec. 3 at participating restaurants for a limited time.
