Sedgmer joins Harrison Hills City School District
CADIZ — Kate Sedgmer has been named director of communications and marketing for the Harrison Hills City School District.
She will lead the district’s communications and marketing efforts, creating strategies that foster stakeholder engagement and support systemic growth within the district.
Sedgmer brings experience in strategic leadership and community engagement. In her current role as executive director of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, she successfully implemented the organization’s strategic vision, oversaw operations, managed budgets and aligned organizational goals with the needs of the business community and economic development.
She is known for building strong relationships and advocating for policies that support growth. Her understanding of fostering collaboration and addressing community needs will be instrumental in strengthening the district’s connections with its stakeholders, district officials explained.
Sedgmer will manage all facets of the district’s communications efforts, including emergency protocol, digital and print media, brand management and strategic planning. Her work will focus on enhancing the district’s digital presence, overseeing content creation and ensuring consistency across all messaging platforms.
Sedgmer will mentor internal teams and collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment with the district’s goals. She will be responsible for monitoring the performance of communication initiatives, optimizing results, and reporting on their effectiveness to leadership.

My commitment to learning, strong business acumen and dedication to positively impacting the Ohio Valley community will allow me to be a valuable asset to the Harrison Hills City School District,” said Sedgmer.
As an alumnus, Sedgmer returns to Harrison Central with a master’s degree in public administration and has extensive experience with digital marketing, content strategy and community relations. She and her husband, Tony, live in Cadiz and are the parents of twins of Jack and Elsie.
