Steubenville Police
Agitated: Callers complained of a woman causing a disturbance in the third-floor hallway of a property in the 3000 block of Johnson Road, Wednesday. Police said they found the woman walking the hallway “ranting loudly,” claiming “people” are stealing pop, food and other items from her home. After advising her of the complaint police said the woman apologized and said she was going to go to bed.
Screened out: A Wildon Avenue property owner said she found a basement window open and two screens pushed up, Wednesday. Police didn’t find anyone inside the property but said they found the lock on the open window had been removed. The owner suspects a former tenant was responsible.
Code issues: Notice of violation was sent to owners/occupants of a property at 314 Henry Ave., large amount of garbage scattered in lot across alley from residence. The city’s litter enforcement officer located several discarded Amazon boxes in a trash bag with the property owner’s name and address on it.
Noise makers: A loud radio was reported in the 900 block of Sherman Avenue, Wednesday. Police said they advised several people to turn the volume down.
Booked: Malaysia Crawford, 29, Market St., Steubenville, bench warrant (Municipal Court), Wednesday.
Cited: Imunique D. Terry, 28, 133 Welday Ave., Steubenville, speeding; Jane E. Kizito, 41, 1502 Ridge Ave., Steubenville, red light violation, expired registration and driving under suspension.
Jefferson County Sheriff
Risky business: A suspicious person was reported next to the Genealogical Society office in Stratton, Wednesday. The caller said the man had “been there for some time, texting.” Deputies said the man advised them he’s from Pennsylvania and was there for the WiFi. He said he was going to meet up with a friend named “Marcus” who he met online and was waiting for a man named “Tony” who was going to get him, but he didn’t know either of their last names. He said he was going to work on “Tony’s” fence.
Vandalized: A Richmond resident discovered the tires on his 2000 Ford F350 pickup slashed and the rear window broken out, Wednesday.
