Steubenville Police
Spitting mad: A woman living in the 100 block of North Sixth Street told police a man had just spit on her, Friday. She said she ran into him at Urban Mission said she argued with a man who owes her money and when she began ignoring him “it upset him” and he started following her, but when she advised him to leave her alone and walked away, he decided to on her. Two bystanders confirmed the details for police. The victim told police she wants to pursue charges but when they attempted to locate the male he was nowhere to be found. Police said they could “clearly see a large amount of saliva still stuck in her hair from having been spit on.”
Stirring the pot: A man in the 500 block of North Fourth Street having ongoing problems with his neighbor said the man was leaning items against his fence and in the walkway to his backyard, Saturday. The provided police with video of the incident and said the same man previously threatened “to end him” several days ago. On Friday, police had to respond to the same location because the same two men were arguing “about (the caller) erecting a fence on the property line.” Police advised them both that the caller has a right to erect a fence on his property and that they could seek the services of a surveyor if they have any more problems.
Actions and reactions: A woman in the 700 block of Norh Fifth Street told police she saw her neighbors on their balcony throwing things over the fence at her dog, Saturday. She said she thinks it’s because her dog was barking.
Staking claim: Police spotted something lying beside the bathrooms at the North End ballfields that looked suspiciously like a person, Saturday. Upon inspection, police said it was “several blankets wrapped up as if someone had been staying there” and when they checked the restroom observed that “someone had made a bed in one of the stalls.”
Rolling along: A Langley Avenue resident said a male in a wheelchair “wheeled through her driveway and was disrespectful to her,” Friday. He was gone before police arrived.
Opened up: Police stopped a man on foot in the 600 block of Franklin Avenue who allegedly had an opened, half-full bottle of alcohol in his possession and was having difficulty walking, Sunday. Brandon Fletcher, 42, 1323 Ridge Ave., Apt. 2, Steubenville, was cited for intoxication/disorderly conduct.
Unrequited: A resident living in the 3200 block of Sunset Boulevard told police a woman has been “bothering him lately and refusing to leave his residence,” Thursday. He said she finally left when he picked up the phone and called them, but he wanted police to tell her he doesn’t want her there.
Not found: Police checked the 500 block of Adams Street for a man talking to himself and possibly needing assistance, but didn’t find anyone in distress, Thursday.
Already gone: A woman in the 500 block of South Fifth Street told police she could hear yelling next door, and a vehicle was parked and running in the grass outside her home, Friday, Police said they didn’t hear any disturbance though they did hear people “talking loudly.” When they talked to a woman inside that residence, she told them the owner of the vehicle had left but she moved it.
Thief: A male wearing a black hoodie, light blue jeans, a ball cap with a yellow bill and a bookbag ran out of a store in the 100 block of Hollywood Boulevard with two vapes he hadn’t paid for, Thursday. The stolen items were valued at $20. The store has footage and wants to press charges, police said.

Collins-Bailey, 29, 423 Rosemont Ave., Steubenville, two warrants for failure to appear (Wintersville county court and Steubenville Municipal Court), Thursday; Nash P. Denhart, 28, 615 Logan Ave., Mingo Junction, two petit theft warrants (Municipal Court), Thursday.
Booked: Tiah Merritt, 33, no fixed address, warrants for felony possession of drugs, obstruction, probation violation and petit theft, Saturday. Police said Merritt had been seen walking in the 100 block of South Seventh Street but ducked into a building. They said she was found “hiding under a cabinet.”
Booked: Samantha J. Cremeans, 29, no fixed address, probation violation, Friday; Talia Schoonover, 35, 524 Highland Ave., Steubenville, warrant for theft, Saturday; Ashlei Crowe, 32, 817 Market St., Apt. H, Steubenville, warrant for vandalism, Saturday; Roman Longo, 39, no fixed address, warrant for failure to appear, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, Friday. Police allegedly found a glass pipe, a glove with several pills and a white powder in Longo’s possession.
Summons: Jonathan Pullie, 50, 707 Market St., Steubenville, failure to appear, Thursday.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 308 Henry Avenue, mattress leaning against back of residence; 310 Henry Ave, litter and scattered garbage around and across from detached garage; 813 Jeannette Ave., multiple bags of garbage as well as scattered garbage in driveway, furniture and holiday decorations on porch; 616 Pine St., mattress, litter and garbage pied in back yard.
Cited: Craig W. Rudolph, 63, 4027 Valleyview Ave., Steubenville, driving under suspension.
