Badly injured: A woman living on state Route 213 who had been knocked to the ground and struck her head was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital where she underwent emergency surgery after she was found unresponsive in her home, Saturday. Deputies were told the woman and her husband had been at a nearby establishment the night before when a man began choking a female companion. Bystanders rushed to break it up and the man causing the problem was pushed outdoors where the situation escalated and he "was trying to hit everyone." The victim was bleeding from the back of her head after the fall but got up and went inside the bar. Her husband said he helped patch her up and they went home. A bystander was able to help identify the man who was responsible for the melee and said he "struck many people when it escalated outside of (the bar.)"

Vengeful ex: A Wintersville woman said she's being "harassed and threatened" because she's dating a woman's ex-fiance, Saturday. She said the other woman had been sending messages threatening to kill her and beat her up and had posted her business card on Facebook with a vulgar caption. Deputies said the other woman told them she was not available to talk with them but went on to admit she had mentioned wanting to beat the other woman up and admitted she'd posted the screen shot of her business card with the vulgar caption. She said the man "left her a few weeks ago and she recently found out that he was seeing" the caller and was upset because she had two children with him. The prosecutor is reviewing the case.
