Hubbub: Police investigating reports of a disturbance in the 200 block of Lawson Avenue said when they arrived there were "numerous people on both sides of the street arguing back and forth." A property owner said he came home to find several cars parked in his side lot and when he approached one of the men started arguing with him, then others joined in. He said he had a gun but never brandished it. The other man told police he "was upset by the way (the homeowner) approached him" and they began arguing, but it didn't escalate. All involved settled down and went their separate ways," police said.

Sticks and stones: Callers reported a group of young kids arguing in the 700 block of Oakmont Avenue (rear), Monday. Police said the dispute stemmed from an argument that occurred several days prior in which a juvenile threw a rock at another juvenile, which resulted in the victim's parents "yelling at another group of juveniles." One of the juveniles who wasn't named "allegedly made mention of a firearm," though all involved said there was never a gun involved "and the juveniles involved in the incident were all 4-5 years of age." Police said the kids were separated and ended up going their separate ways.

Domestic disturbance: A woman told police her on-again, off-again boyfriend assaulted her, Monday. She said he picked her up "to talk about things" but once she was in his car he "appeared angry and began driving erratically," but it wasn't the first time he'd done that and when she told him she wasn't scared alleges he became even more upset and thought she wasn't taking him seriously. When he pulled into a parking lot she said she tried to get out of the car and told police he "grabbed her arm and began pulling her back inside" and punching her, so she hit back. She claimed he then "grabbed her by the feet and managed to press her head down into the floor of the vehicle" and when she broke free, "tackled her and pressed her face into the ground." The male told police he had picked her up and they argued "after she began verbally abusing him." He claimed she "began punching him and denied ever striking her" and said he got out of the car when she did and when they came face-to-face they "wrestled on the ground before (they) both left the area." Police said the woman's hair and clothes were disheveled and soiled with mud and grass stains with scratches on her hands, and report her "clothing and socks were wet due to the rain." The man's clothes were also wet, disheveled and stained, and his face was red.

Nowhere to go: A caller reported two people sleeping on the sidewalk in the 200 block of N. 7th Street, Monday. Police told them to gather their things and leave.
