Cited: An Oregon Avenue resident was cited after he allegedly balked at turning the volume on his car radio down, Monday. Police said several callers had complained about the loud music coming from his vehicle and report when they arrived, Shawn P. Wanner, 52, 1635 Oregon Ave., was washing his car with the volume turned up inside. Police said when they advised him of the city ordinance prohibiting loud music and asked him to lower the volume, he became argumentative and even though he eventually did make a "slight" adjustment, "the music and subwoofer in the vehicle still seemed to be excessively loud." When he again refused to identify himself even after being warned they would have to seize his vehicle, police said they called for a tow truck. Police said a juvenile then got in the vehicle "and turned the volume down to an acceptable level," upsetting Wanner who then turned it back up. Police said Wanner "argued with them" for another 10 minutes before turning the volume down to an acceptable level and producing his identification so they canceled the tow truck but ticketed him for loud music.
