Listen up: Someone complained people in the 1600 block of Labelle Court were talking too loudly, Thursday. Police located the individuals next to a parking lot and after explaining to the host why they were there he said he would “turn the music down and lower the noise level.”

Making noise: A “loud party” was said to be disturbing life in the 700 block of Woodlawn, Wednesday. Police located a large crowd at the rear of a residence and when they advised the owner of the noise complaint, he advised his guests to leave.

Drawing numbers: An even bigger party was reported in the 1500 block of Pershing Avenue, Wednesday. Police said there were “several hundred individuals on the property” and when they spoke with the homeowner she said “she understood and wished for (their) help to get the party shut down.”

Buzz kill: A resident in the 1600 block of Ridge Avenue was told to shut his window and turn the volume down on his radio after a woman complained of a loud radio, Wednesday.

Walk the line: A caller reported a man “standing in the middle of the road: on 5th Street at Clinton Avenue, Thursday. Police said the located the culprit, who advised all was well “and that he was enjoying his walk” so they told him to do it on the sidewalk.

Gotaway: Callers reported a man “who appeared to be acting erratic and possibly in distress,” Tuesday. Police checked the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the description they were given.

Warned: A dog owner and a sitter were advised of the city’s leash laws after a resident complained an Aussie Sheperd in their care had gotten loose, Wednesday. The resident claimed the Aussie was off its leash and “charged toward them” and tried to attack her and her own dog while they were walking in the 2600 block of Chestnut St. The Aussie’s owner and sitter, who has a large, fenced-in yard, advised they didn’t see the dog go after anyone and that there’s never been a problem with the dog behaving aggressively with anyone, nor have they figured out how it occasionally gets out of the yard. Police said the dog “appeared friendly and did not attempt to charge (them) or attack (them).”

Complaint: A caller reported hearing shots fired in the 700 block of Oakmont Avenue, but after checking the area police said they found nothing amiss, Tuesday.

Problem behavior: An intoxicated male was said to be causing a disturbance in the 100 block of N. 4th Street, Wednesday. Police said the man had already left when they arrived at the building.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 441 S. 4th St., 449 S. 4th St., 261 Lovers Lane, 160 Brockton Rd., 151 Greenwich Ave., 144 Welday Ave., all for high grass/weeds. Also, 1331 Oregon Ave., litter and scattered garbage, high grass/weeds.

Cited: Jennifer Eastham, 45, 913 Longford Dr., Steubenville, no operator’s license and assured clear distance ahead following a three-car accident in the 2600 block of Sunset Boulevard, Wednesday. Eastham allegedly struck two vehicles stopped at the light on Sunset at Richland, though police said she told them she slowed down but when the light changed the other two drivers started to accelerate forward then slammed their brakes. A passenger in one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital for evaluation, they said.

Summons issued: Dale E. Hanlon, 74, 1132 Oak Grove Ave., Steubenville, theft, Wednesday. Employees at Walmart alleged Hanlo tried to leave the store with electronics he hadn’t paid for.

Cited: Juana Rodriguez, 58, 711 Kendall Ave., dog-at-large. Police said Rodriguez has been received “numerous citations” in the past because her dog runs loose and on Wednesday were emailed three videos of the d0g on neighbors’ properties and a woman had contacted them about the dog “wanting to go after her dog” while it was in her own backyard. Also cited: Michael A. Elias, 35, 1914 McCauslen Manor, Steubenville, red light violation.
