Make them go: A Pittsburgh Street man asked police to make two people who were in his house arguing to leave, Sunday. The couple said they were arguing “over matters relating to their partnership” and both denied a physical altercation, even though police spotted “several drops of blood” on the floor. Police said the female was bleeding and eventually told them she’d been “throwing things around the house” during the argument. Since neither party was willing to go into detail about the events police told them the homeowner wanted them gone.

Shoving match: A couple in the 800 block of North Sixth Avenue was arguing and “began pushing one another,” Sunday. Both stated nothing else happened, though the woman said a friend got between the two of them and a garlic powder container she threw at her husband hit him instead. He confirmed he’d been hit by it but wasn’t interested in pursuing charges. Police said the woman doesn’t live at the location so they told her to leave and warned them both if they had to come back they’d both be arrested

Neighborhood problem: A woman told police her across-the-street neighbors were harassing her with their dog, Sunday. She couldn’t tell police “Exactly how the subjects were using their dog to harass her,” but claimed the man “threatened to shoot her in the face.” Police spoke with the neighbors, who said the caller “has been yelling at them and screaming obscenities at them” from her porch. They said their dog is only in the fenced-in section of their property. Police tried to speak with the caller again but said she “entered her apartment and did not wish to speak with (them) any further.” Later, police had to return because the woman “was screaming obscenities and threatening to stab people with a knife” but put the knife in her purse before police arrived. Police said the woman was highly agitated and exhibited manic behavior, claiming two neighbors had threatened her though others said nothing of the sort had happened. Police said she agreed to go to the hospital for treatment.

Potty mouth: A man flagged an officer down on Union Avenue to report he was walking down the street when “a male at the corner house approached him with a large stick and began to threaten him,” Sunday. Police located the man carrying the stick, who said he was cleaning his pool and had a large pool net on a pole when he “heard someone yelling vulgarities and went to check on his kids” who were playing in his front yard. He said he told the passerby he was only there because “he was concerned for the kids” but the man “continued to scream at him.” Both men were advised to go their separate ways.

Broken: A Mingo Junction resident told police he’s convinced someone threw a rock off the train overpass at Lincoln Avenue, damaging his windshield, Sunday. He said there were no vehicles in front of him at the time.

Nowhere to go: A caller reported a man sleeping on the ground in front of a store at Hollywood Plaza, Sunday. Police told the man he can’t sleep there, and he left.

Jefferson County Sheriff

Pointing fingers: Deputies got conflicting stories about an incident on county Road 68, Toronto, Saturday. A female said she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend when she went to check on him because he’d been drinking and allegedly making strange statements, but he said she was “blowing his phone up, wanting to know where he was” that day and was irate because he wouldn’t answer her calls. She said he was “highly intoxicated” and was upset when she rebuffed his efforts to convince her to stay, and when she grabbed his keys to keep him from driving away allege he “started hitting her in the face and arm” and was trying to leave when her foot slipped off the gas and the still-open car door “hit him and knocked him over.” She claimed when she got out to help him up “he accused her of stealing his phone and running him over.” She denied taking his phone and said the tires never touched him. He told deputies he wasn’t sure if hitting him with the car door and knocking him over was intentional or not. The female initially wasn’t sure she wanted to ask prosecutors to review the incident report but notified deputies the following morning that she’d found some bruises.

Fraud: A Richmond man said he discovered someone opened a credit card in his name when a debt collector told him he owed $800, Monday.

Late night walk: A caller reported a man “possibly on drugs” in the 100 block of Cadiz Road, Sunday. The man said he was out looking for his dog but told deputies he’d stay inside until morning.

Booked: Brian Hnanicek, 52, Girard, Ohio, warrant (Toronto county court), Saturday.
