CANAAN VALLEY, W.Va. — Scott R. Myers was presented with the Charles Dodd Award during this year’s annual convention of the West Virginia Funeral Directors and Crematory Operators Association held at Canaan Valley Resort.

The Dodd award, named in honor of one of the profession’s most respected pioneers, is presented annually to recognize the most outstanding and innovative funeral director, embalmer, and crematory operator in West Virginia. It was presented by John C. Greco of Weirton, the association’s president, during the gathering of funeral professionals and suppliers from across the state.

“Scott Myers embodies the professional excellence, forward-thinking and community involvement that the Dodd award was created to celebrate,” said Greco during the presentation. “His dedication to serving families with integrity, his commitment to best practices in embalming and cremation and his contributions to elevating the standards of our profession are truly exemplary.”

The ceremony was a highlight of the multi-day convention, which brought together licensed funeral directors, embalmers, crematory operators and industry partners to network, participate in educational sessions and celebrate achievements in the field.

The West Virginia Funeral Directors and Crematory Operators Association continues its long-standing tradition of honoring excellence, supporting professional development and advocating for high standards across the industry.
