Good Samaritan: A man turned in a wallet belonging to a Yorkville man that he had found and it was returned to its owner.
Suspicious person: A man was seen walking back and forth along U.S. Route 250 near Adena on Monday morning. Deputies confronted the man, who said he was picking up cigarette butts.
Strange creature: A resident reported a possibly rabid raccoon was seen near a trailer park on Cadiz Road Monday morning but before officers arrived at the scene, the resident said it had entered some woods nearby.
Steubenville Police
Cited: Ryan F. Liebhaber, 47, 391 Shady Ave., speeding; Carina K. Ocasio, 27, East Liverpool, red light violation and driving while suspended; Kismet Johnson, 48, Youngstown, expired registration; Devon Taylor, 42, 176 Skyview Drive, Weirton, expired plates; and Joshua Leasure, 42, 311 Wilshire Blvd., dog at large.
Interesting discovery: On Wednesday, two juveniles discovered a firearm with an extended magazine in the woods and turned it into police, who noted there was a lot of dirt in and on the weapon.
Theft: Copper piping and some antique items were reported taken from a home on Pine Street on Tuesday.
Vandalism: A resident reported tires of two vehicles parked on Plum Street were flattened on Wednesday.
Disrupted traffic: A driver reported juveniles were throwing rocks at passing vehicles on Sinclair Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
