As they approached police said they "could hear yelling from (the hallway) prior to knocking," and when they spoke with the woman involved she told them she was "yelling at her boyfriend's sister (who lives in Georgia) on the phone and everything was OK." Wayward child: A pedestrian who found a small child wandering in the road at Lawson Avenue and Plum Street flagged police down for assistance, Tuesday. The child wasn't wearing shoes and told police when she woke up, she didn't see her mother. Police said the child was "holding her mother's car keys that had a small change purse with it that contained an ID" and told police "she walked down the sidewalk" from the area of Orchard Street, so he picked the child up and walked up the street with her "until she pointed to the house that she came from." Once there, the officer said he "knocked on the door several times with no response" so he stuck his head in a door and began calling out, again with no response, so he called for a backup to help search the house. Midway up the steps police said they yelled again and this time, they said a male responded "and shortly after a woman came downstairs" who told them her daughter "was asleep on the couch" so police told her the child had actually been located down the street.
