West Virginia’s online casino sector set another record in October 2025, hitting an all-time high of $34.7 million in monthly revenue. The latest figures show that the state’s iGaming market is continuing its fast expansion. It is up almost $500,000 from September and 44% higher than the same period last year.

October’s results are consistent with the pattern of steady, accelerated growth seen throughout 2025. The state has now surpassed $30 million in several months. This threshold was only reached twice before this year. Industry analysts claim that the progression is due to both the maturity of West Virginia’s regulatory model as well as the sustained performance of its licensed casino partners.

An increasing number of players are looking for regulated platforms, and many are seeking sites beyond individual brands or large names that monopolize the industry. Experts have recommended alternatives to Stake casino, where players can legally play casino games in a protected environment, with a diversified range of games. This trend is also seen in West Virginia, where players enjoy a responsible, well-regulated industry.

An important development resulting in October’s record is the casino operators shifts within the state’s licensing structure. FanDuel moved from the Greenbrier license to Mardi Gras in September, recording its first full month on the new license in October. The impact was instant: revenue attributed to Mardi Gras grew from $610,000 in August to $8.3 million in October. FanDuel contributed around $7.7 million.

Greenbrier is still a contender in the market, despite these changes. Its remaining partners, BetMGM and Golden Nugget, brought in a combined $8.6 million in October, with BetMGM reportedly responsible for most of that total.

The largest revenue increase was recorded by Charles Town. It is currently the state’s largest licensed online casino provider. Its brands, DraftKings and PointsBet, generated $11.1 million in October. DraftKings continues to dominate individually, holding the title as the single largest online casino in West Virginia.

Mountaineer rounded out the group with a reported revenue of $6.7 million. Although it sits at the bottom of the license holders, it is one of the fastest-growing operators. Year-over-year, its share has increased, from 15% in 2024 to 19% last month. These figures include revenue from Caesars and BetRivers.

The market is overseen by the West Virginia Lottery Commission, which regulates licensing, testing, security standards, and responsible gambling practices. Operators must partner with one of the state’s five land-based casinos, maintain compliance with geolocation checks, and keep player funds in segregated accounts. These guardrails were introduced through the Interactive Wagering Act of 2019.

Although casino gambling was the main industry highlight in October, the sports betting sector also experienced growth. The state recorded $56.5 million in betting handle and $5.29 million in gross gaming revenue, making it one of the best months since January. This reinforces the stability of online and retail betting and gambling operations in West Virginia.
