Back at it: A resident in the 400 block of North Sixth Street told police his female companion “got angry” and “wiped everything on the coffee table off” before proceeding to “knock over a stand with all his medications,” Wednesday. He said he was seated at the coffee table when she “started to slam it into the ground then flipped the coffee table over when it did not break” before making her way into the kitchen, “where she started throwing glass dishes, breaking them all over the floor.” She also punched him in the face, he said, and police noted facial redness and a small scratch on his neck as well as a small cut on his leg that was bleeding. The female left when he called police, so officers checked her residence as well as the downtown but she wasn’t located. The information was forwarded to the city prosecutor for consideration of charges.

Not adding up: A juvenile told police an argument with her mother turned physical and her mom “slapped her in the face and was grabbing at her while pinning her down in the vehicle,” then told her she’s no longer welcome in the house, Thursday. Police said her hair and clothes were neat and she had no scrapes or bruises to indicate she’d been in a fight, which was inconsistent with her account of the alleged fight, and said when they talked to mom they got a version of events that was not consistent with what the girl had told them.

Loading up: Employees at Kroger told police a woman tried to push “an entire shopping cart full of items” out of the store without paying,” Thursday. She fled in a black truck before police arrived by they were able to identify her. Police said the items she tried to steal totaled $937.

So there: A disturbance was reported in a building in the 800 block of North Sixth Street, Thursday. A male told them he and his girlfriend “were just arguing.” She refused to speak with them.

Pilfered: A Cedar Avenue resident said his driver’s license, birth certificate and Social Security card were stolen from his vehicle overnight, Thursday.

Drunk driving: Employees at the Marathon in Amsterdam said a “highly intoxicated man” had driven to the store and was trying to get lunch meat but was “too intoxicated to stand” and had dropped his pants to urinate near the front door, Tuesday. Deputies said he smelled of alcohol and “could barely stand on his own” and had leaned against the counter “with his pants unzipped and coming down his legs.” They said as they walked him outside “he fell over, onto his (backside.)” He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Drugs: A deputy on patrol spotted someone he believed to be overdosing in a vehicle in Yorkville, Tuesday. The woman was initially unresponsive, but after she was revived the deputy learned she’d taken the vehicle without permission. The owner said he’d been “trying to get it returned for several weeks.” The deputy said her male companion was en route to the hospital in an ambulance when he “jumped out at the red light in Yorkville.” The woman had an outstanding warrant and was turned over to Belmont County deputies.
