Food fight: A caller reported an intoxicated male at a location in the 200 block of Buena Vista was threatening a woman, Sunday. The man said he’d been watching a football game with friends and brought food home for his female companion but she didn’t like it so they arg ued and she “threw (it) at him.” He admitted there’ve been “ongoing issues between the two of them for a while which has led to multiple arguments” but denied a physical altercation, saying at one point he grabbed her “but then immediately let go” and said both were “continuously arguing and verbally threatening one another during the whole incident.” He also confirmed he’d downed a “few beers” during the game. The female told police that the argument led to him “smacking her upside the head” so she threw the food at him. Police determined the male was the primary aggressor but she didn’t want him to be charged, and he told police to avoid further problems he could spend the night with a family member.
Sad times: Police responding to a report that a female had brandished a knife and threatened her mother said when they got there mom told them her daughter needs help, not jail, Sunday. The daughter was on the porch when they arrived and told them “nothing whatsoever had taken place and that her mother has dementia,” then suggested they already knew what was happening inside the house. When police told her they had no idea what she was talking about, the daughter claimed she was being “raped and aped” by her mother and seemed hesitant to let them go inside until mom came to the door and asked them to come in. Mom told the her daughter has diagnosed medical issues but she’s not taking medication, “and is unstable as a result.” She said her daughter woke up that morning “accusing (her) of raping her and shooting her” and eventually they started arguing, telling police that at one pont her daughter “picked up a kitchen knife and began threatening her with it and waiving it in her face.” Mom said she is “possibly fearful” because her daughter had attacked her in the past and was now brandishing weapons and threatening physical harm.” Another individual in the home confirmed hearing the younger woman threatening her mother and said she’d attacked her in the past, but mom insisted she wanted her daughter to get help, not arrested, so police took steps to ensure she got treatment.
Trashy things: A resident in the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue complained that “garbage was spread throughout the rear of his property,” Saturday. Police said a bag “full of debris” had been spread along the ground, and they retrieved “multiple pieces of mail” from a Woodlawn Road apartment as well as some out of the area.
Opportunity knocked: A North Sixth Street resident said a Doordash driver delivered $30 worth of food to her building but neglected to notify her it was there and two men took it, Sunday.

Open door: A Ridgewood Place employee said he went to his car after work and found “an unknown woman sleeping in his car,” Friday. He said he woke her up and she got out of his car “and started wandering around the parking lot” and told deputies she was possibly under the influence. When they found the woman deputies said she “appeared to be highly intoxicated” and told a patrolman she’d taken eight suboxone, then told a deputy she’d swallowed two “fake” Xanax so they called for an ambulance so she could be checked out. Deputies said she told the ambulance crew she’d ingested “three suboxone and one gabapentin.”
Walk off: A Toronto area resident said a couple in a blue pickup truck had “engaged in some type of argument” in front of her home and the female got out and walked away, Sunday. She said when she asked the woman if she was OK she “replied she was fine and continued walking away,” but she wanted deputies to check on the woman to be sure all was well. A deputy located the woman walking on county Road 45 and said she refused to identify herself and told them she didn’t need their help.
Nefarious: An Amsterdam woman said two boys were “standing on her porch, looking at her through the window,” Saturday. Deputies asked the caller if she recognized the pair and she told them they “were Mennonites from Wintersville,” reporting one of them “was wearing an orange shirt and glasses.” They checked the area and were unable to locate anyone matching the boys’ description.
Sad state: A county resident admitted she thinks about harming herself, Saturday. She told deputies she’d been in a mental health facility at one point but left “because the people were annoying.” She said she wanted a mental health evaluation, so they arranged for her to go to the hospital to have one done.
Scam prelude: A Richmond woman told deputies she’s getting concerning text messages, Saturday. She said the senders stated they “were stalking her and that she had no idea,” but deputies advised there scammers are using websites to gather personal information such as addresses and names of people “to scare into sending them money.”
