Steubenville Police

Keeps coming back: A Portland Boulevard resident said his ex-wife keeps coming to his home even though he doesn’t want her there, Thursday. The man said he has full custody of their children and his ex has never lived there, but she showed up three times the week prior and was leaving stuff near the porch area of the residence just before they arrived. He said he has an order of protection against her but it hasn’t been served so police looked for her but so far have been unable to locate her.

Officers executing a search warrant at a Wellesley Avenue location seized about 80 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, a handgun and about $3,700 in cash, Thursday.

Anger issues: A woman said her ex started arguing with her when she went to his place to pick their child up and then took her car keys and “wouldn’t let her leave,” Thursday. She said when she took the child to the car the arguing continued, and he may have punched her car before tossing her keys back in the car. The man said she dapped their child off after he got home from a second shift “and he was frustrated.” When she came back to get the child, he admitted yelling at her but denied a physical altercation. Police advised him to control his emotions

Good deed: A caller reported a man had been standing in the cold outside a doctor’s office in the 2000 block of Sunset Boulevard for two hours waiting for a taxi that never came, Tuesday. The caller said the man “wasn’t dressed” for the cold. Police gave him a ride to his home in Mingo Junction.

Bad break: A man whose 20-year relationship went south said his ex wouldn’t give him the title to a vehicle he was buying from her, Thursday. He said they had a written, notarized contract as far as the purchase price and payments go, but she was refusing to give him the title because of $319 in unpaid toll fees. She told deputies she took the plate off to avoid further fees.

Stormed out: A caller asked deputies to check on a female who’d been visiting a man at a Dillonvale location and called to say he was “being mean to her and…refusing to allow her to leave,” Jan. 18. The homeowner said she’d left about 15 minutes earlier and was upset because his mother and sister showed up, and on her way out “destroyed a few things in the house.” Deputies tried calling her several times, but it went directly to voicemail. The homeowner said he didn’t want to pursue charges against her for “breaking one of his kitchen plates or breaking a window on the front door as she ‘stormed out of the house’.”
