Steubenville Police

Walking on water: Three people trying to walk across the Ohio River were advised that wasn’t a good idea, Monday. Police said the trio was “halfway out on the river, walking … toward West Virginia” so they activated their lights and sirens “and were able to beckon them back to the Ohio side and onto the shoreline.” They were advised of the severe safety concerns involved in walking over the icy river and told they should leave the marina.

Questionable content: A city resident told police her child’s boyfriend “is making threats of blackmail with content he has (on his phone) of the two of them,” Monday. The juvenile boyfriend advised he was not in the contents he has on his phone “and that he was only sent them from his friends.”

Robbed: A breaking and entering was reported in the 800 block of North Sixth Street, Monday. He said someone entered the building, forced entry into the office and stole money.

Charged: A New Jersey man ended up in the Jefferson County jail on an intoxication hold after police pulled him over in the 2300 block of Sunset Boulevard, Sunday. Police said Stephen Quense, 21, of Warren, N.J., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence.

Served: James West, 42, 1255 Ridge Ave., Steubenville, warrant for theft, Monday.

Cited: Cameron R. Vincenzo, 19, 112 Saline St., Irondale, speeding (school zone); Tyler L. Schmitt, 29, 212 Valley Road, Mingo Junction, assured clear distance ahead after a four-vehicle chain-reaction accident Monday at Lovers Lane and Brydan Road; Darryl L. Forster, 61, 202 Center Ave., Mingo Junction, assured clear distance ahead after a two-vehicle collision Monday on Sunset at John Scott Highway; Christopher Lucas, 35, 3440 McCoy Road, Apt. B, assured clear distance and no insurance after a two-vehicle collision on University Boulevard at state Route 7.

Mingo Junction Police

Booked: Joshua M. Fortunato, 23, 122 Madison Ave., Mingo Junction, domestic violence, Monday. Sheriff’s deputies were at the scene to provide backup and report Reagan L. Buzzard, 22, 313 Wilbert Ave., Mingo Junction, was booked for obstructing official business after she allegedly “became irate” at Fortunato being taken into custody and “attempted to prevent (him) from being arrested, multiple times.”
