Wrong place: A naked male was reported Tuesday at the front door of a home in the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue. The caller said the unclothed juvenile was knocking at someone’s door. Police attempted to talk to the individual to gather information for their report but ended up transporting him to the hospital for evaluation.
Just chilling: Someone reported seeing a man sitting on a porch Monday in the 600 block of Lawson Avenue who was only partially dressed. Police said as they approached the man got up and went inside the residence and when he returned he had pants on. He admitted to police wasn’t wearing them earlier. They asked him to make sure sure he’s wearing pants next time he sits on his porch.
Off track: Police found a man in the roadway Monday at the intersection of state Route 7 and University Boulevard. He told police he was “exploring new territory” and was lost. Police said the individual is known to have mental health issues and they regularly respond to calls involving him, so they took him to the hospital for evaluation.
Batter up: Callers reported kids with a baseball bat hitting rocks at vehicles Monday. Police said a kid holding a bat when they arrived told them he “did not mean to hit it at cars and he was only hitting rocks into the wooded area,” but the caller said a rock hit the front of her car. She said she didn’t see any damage but she didn’t want any other rocks hit toward her vehicle, so they told the kids to knock it off.
Not permitted: Someone complained Monday about individuals soliciting at the mall without a permit. Police located two juveniles selling candy bars for the high school basketball team and advised them they needed a signed permit from the store. They left.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners or occupants of properties at 3220 Sunset Blvd., 156 Greenwich, 1232 Oak Grove, 2604 Whitehaven Blvd., 1428 Oregon Ave., 1517 Oregon Ave., 712 McDowell Ave., 221 Ohio St., all for high grass.
Aromatic sojourn: Employees told police juveniles had locked themselves in a restroom at Hollywood Plaza Tuesday and were smoking marijuana. They said they could hear the girls in the restroom and smelled marijuana, then heard a toilet flush. The girls left when they heard police had been called, splitting up once they were outside, but police located both groups and all denied smoking marijuana. Police said all were given a strong warning and advised to vacate the area.
Escalating: An Adams Street resident told police she and her 19-year-old son were arguing over the condition of his room Tuesday. She said his room was “in disarray and covered in old food” and after his older brother joined in the argument, the 19-year-old “pointed a BB gun at him.” Once police were called, she said he fled the residence, leaving the gun behind. Her older son also had left, so police couldn’t speak with him, and the mother told police she didn’t want the younger son charged.
Distressed: Passersby reported a man walking in the northbound lane of state Route 7 at the marina Tuesday, wandering in and out of traffic. Several callers advised police they’d almost struck the man. Police located him as he was walking toward the marina and realized he was in severe mental distress. He was taken to an area hospital, but once there EMS personnel learned he’d been admitted the day before and released and arranged for him to go to a family member’s residence.
Money, money, money: Two men at an Oregon Avenue location were arguing Tuesday, prompting a caller to report the disturbance. Police learned the two “were having a family dispute” over money, but the men said all was well.
Fired up: A caller in the 800 block of Market Street reported a possible domestic disturbance Tuesday. The resident told police she’d been arguing with her husband and several times told them she was OK and didn’t need assistance, but they had to return later because she was arguing with her kids. Police said they spoke with all parties “and helped resolve the issue for today.”
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 1526 Euclid Ave., 227 Ohio St., 1401 Wellesley Ave., 1407 Wellesley Ave., 1411 Wellesley Ave., 1658 Oregon Ave., 333 Woodlawn Road, 141 Lovers Lane (vacant lot), 4702 Scioto Drive, all for high grass; also, 515 Lawson Ave., high grass, discarded items and personal belongings stored on porch and in yard.

Shots reported: An Irondale-area resident reported hearing gunshots Wednesday. A caller reported hearing at least nine shots in rapid succession and spotted a vehicle with its lights on. Another resident called to report hearing shots fired, and then a family member reported seeing a silver or gray Silverado pickup parked in the area and said the driver is believed to have a gun in the vehicle. Deputies were unable to locate the pickup or its driver. The owner of a house neighbors feared was involved said he didn’t hear guns being fired and wasn’t involved.
