Police Beat

STEUBENVILLE POLICE

Booked: A man was booked into the county jail Friday after he allegedly became combative with doctors attempting to care for him. Police said Dennis Robinson, 44, of Steubenville, was charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly spitting on staff unprovoked. Multiple staff members had to intervene to restrain Robinson, police said.

Code violations: Notices of violation were sent to owners or occupants of properties at 1304 Ridge Ave., 1122 Wellesley Ave. and 1150 Oregon Ave. for high grass.

Cited: Tashonda Birden, 31, of Steubenville, driving under suspension and expired plates.

JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF

Walked in: A County Road 60 (Bergholz) resident told deputies Wednesday that his neighbor’s brother entered the neighbor’s home Tuesday while the resident was out of town and stole a gun.

He said he contacted the neighbor, who told him he had not given his brother permission to be in the home. The resident told deputies that when he returns home, he will make sure nothing else is missing and will “try to figure out which gun his brother took.”
