STEUBENVILLE POLICE
Threats: A business in the 2200 block of Sunset Boulevard reported a customer called and threatened the staff Tuesday. Employees said the man "identified himself as Tim, called the store upset that money was automatically being withdrawn from his account...(and) knew where the store was located and was on his way there to shoot out the windows." Employees said the number was blocked and they had no identifying information for the caller.
Juvenile: A young girl called a downtown resident and said she "was going to have her aunt go to his sisters house to fight (her)" Tuesday.
Holding his breath: A 10-year-old told police he locked his mother out of the car and refused to open the door because "he wanted a slushie but was told no" Tuesday.
Flashing red means stop: Kaydice J. Fram, 21, 438 Dresden Ave., Steubenville, was cited for a red-light violation after she allegedly drove through the flashing red light at the intersection of Adams and Seventh streets without stopping Tuesday. Police said it appeared the vehicle "was traveling at or above the posted speed limit and did not even slow down at the intersection" and said Fram advised "she did not stop because she thought the flashing lights meant that the lights were broken."
On the run: A Wintersville man ended up in custody after police reported he "ran toward the front of (a) patrol car, forcing (the officer) to take evasive action" before continuing to run through a Lovers Lane parking lot Wednesday. Police said Trestan Shane Craft, 29, 148 Reichart Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and obstructing official business after he allegedly kept running away each time they tried to speak with him. One of his friends who had been walking with him "was just as perplexed" by the man's behavior as police, officers said.
Drugs: Steubenville firefighters had to administer Narcan to an unresponsive woman Tuesday. Police said that after she was revived, she admitted snorting heroin.
Had enough: A Center Avenue landlord said a tenant with whom she's had ongoing problems wanted her to let her into her apartment, then argued with her and "threatened to assault her" after she refused to give her the only key she had to the residence. She said she plans to file for eviction and has already blocked the woman's phone number.
Brazen: A Madison Avenue resident told police a porch pirate stole his Walmart grocery order from his front porch Wednesday. He said he wasn't home and when he returned, his $70 order was gone.
Charged: A woman and a juvenile with her were charged with theft Tuesday after employees at Walmart detained them for allegedly shoplifting. Police charged Demita Pendleton, 49, 434 Lawson Ave., Steubenville, with theft.
Cited: Kenneth Wayne Geiger, 45, 1533 Euclid Ave., Steubenville, driving under suspension Tuesday; Dairus Agin, 54, 43 County Road 50A, Irondale, expired/unlawful plates.
Surprise visitor: A Henry Avenue resident advised police a bald man he didn't know was in his backyard Tuesday morning.
Cited: Nasser Sonbolian, 83, Pittsburgh, failure to control after his Mercedes SUV traveled off the road Tuesday on John Scott Highway near Kingston and into bushes, coming to rest against a street sign; Jennifer D. Cranston, 47, 1216 County Road 54, Richmond, failure to control after her Jeep Cherokee traveled off the roadway in the 1800 block of Sinclair Avenue, struck a telephone pole, crossed the road and came to rest in a wooded area.
