WEIRTON -- For the last year, Drazen Frankovitch has been working to transform the lifestyles of area residents through nutrition.

The Weirton native founded Fresh Nutrition by Drazen as a way to share his own experiences with food and health with others, with a meal preparation program using fresh ingredients and tailored to the needs of the customer.

"They're not frozen meals," he said. "Everything is made from scratch."

Frankovitch explained Fresh Nutrition by Drazen has its roots during his time attending college in Florida. He was playing sports, but felt the food available wasn't helping him to be his best, so he began to design his own food and nutrition program.

"I saw a big difference in the way I felt physically, but also how I operated mentally," he said.

After returning home three years ago, he decided to continue his meal preparation habits and soon began receiving requests from friends to design programs for them.

In the midst of the COVID pandemic, he launched Fresh Nutrition by Drazen, partnering with Crazy Mexican restaurant in Weirton, which provided him with kitchen space and his initial pickup location for those purchasing his meals.

Customers can select from a series of meal plans, or a variety of designed standard or keto meals, with a few treats also on the menu. An al a carte option is available for those who wish to create their own meals.

"We construct every single meal for you," Frankovitch noted, adding there are no contracts involved.

Meal options also change on a regular basis, so it is not the same food each week.

Frankovitch explained his goal is to provide consistency, along with quality meals and an unbelievable customer service, personally tracking the process for each customer, from the time they place their order to the moment they receive it.

"We give you the best quality experience with the best quality meals," he said.

The community seems to be supportive of his efforts, he said, as he has been able to grow the business to include several grab-and-go or pickup locations, as well as a delivery service within a 40-mile radius.
