STEUBENVILLE — EMIT Training Consultants has secured a contract for diversity and inclusion training for Tomtreyco McDonald’s.
EMIT is a minority- and woman-owned small business created to provide workforce training for the public and private sectors. The firm offers training in seven subjects: Ethics, equity, education, management, inclusion, diversity and technology.
Founded in 2000, Tomtreyco McDonald’s is a two-generation family business and McDonald’s franchise organization. The company owns and operates 54 restaurants across Northeast Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Each location employs between 50 and 100 local residents in part-time positions and full-time careers.
“We are looking forward to delivering top-notch diversity training for Tomtreyco McDonald’s,” said Eliza Kelley, president and founder of EMIT. “The subjects of diversity and inclusion are important in the workforce to promote growth, understanding and equity.”
Josh Barnett, Tomtreyco’s chief strategy officer, said “We’re grateful that Michael McIntyre from the NAACP introduced us to EMIT. This relationship will expand our ongoing support of cultural diversity.”
In 2022, EMIT received certifications from the Ohio Department of Development, Minority Business Development Division for EDGE (Encouraging Diversity, Growth and Equity), Minority Business Enterprise and Women-Owned Business Enterprise. These certifications allow the company to provide training, consulting, public engagement and public outreach for local state, and federal contracts.
