Lighthouse has new location

Contributed NEW LOCATIONS — Lighthouse Counseling and Mediation Services has celebrated its fifth anniversary of serving area residents.

STEUBENVILLE — Well-wishers gathered at its 320 Market St. location to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Lighthouse Counseling and Mediation Services.

Previously located in the Chase building, in 2022 Lighthouse Counseling opened a second location in Salem and provides treatment for individuals with mental health and substance abuse needs as well as adults, adolescents and children who have mental health counseling needs.

There are currently 60 children in the Kids Group. Children are taught lessons on anger, bullying, self-control, social skills, following directions, paying attention and self-esteem. They are taught holistically when the group meets on Saturdays during the school year and weekdays during summer break.

Lighthouse Counseling also has 100 clients who are prescribed Suboxone to assist in their recovery from opioids, staff said. The goal is to treat the whole person – mind, body and spirit — so that individuals can establish a foundation on which to build a productive and full life in recovery, officials said.

Lighthouse Counseling is owned and operated by Kimberly Ford, CEO and clinical director, and is staffed by 12 employees “who share a passion for helping others.” In addition to her multiple licenses, Ford has earned a certified first responder counselor designation. Lighthouse can be reached at (740) 314-5339 and online at lighthouseoh.com
