Coffee truck offers a quick pick-me-up in Wintersville

Warren Scott AN ADDITION — Winterville officials welcomed Clear Creek Coffee, a food truck offering assorted coffee and other beverages, at 607 Main St., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mayor Mike Petrell, left, and Village Administrator Jessie Kosegi held the ribbon for owners Drew and Kristin Patterson.

WINTERSVILLE — From morning commuters seeking a quick pick-me-up to passerby yearning simply for a refreshing drink, the owners of Clear Creek Coffee offer assorted hot and cold beverages from a convenient location.

Mayor Mike Petrell and other local officials welcomed Drew and Kristin Patterson, owners of the food truck, at its semi-permanent location at 607 Main St.

Drew said the truck can be found there from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, though it also may appear occasionally at other locations outside those hours.

For the ribbon cutting, the Pattersons temporarily closed one of two lanes, one on each side of the truck, from which motorists can place orders without getting out of their vehicles. The menu includes espressos, cappuccinos, mochas and Americanos as well as bambiccino, hot chocolate and tea.

Drew said their most popular beverages are a hot or ice latte while adding Clear Creek Coffee will offer a special drink for each season, this spring’s being a strawberry chocolate cream cold brew.

He added he takes pride in using organically grown beans and sugar and fresh ingredients.

For those who are lactose intolerant, Clear Creek Coffee also offers oat milk as an alternative.

Drew said the business currently offers no munchies but he is hoping to partner with an area bakery to change that.

Having worked as manager of other restaurants, he said, “I just love the service industry.”

Drew said he and his wife love coffee and the convenience of their current business model but they won’t rule out possibly opening a brick-and-mortar location.

He said since they moved from Oklahoma to Jefferson County, they have enjoyed making it their home with their one-year-old daughter, Mercy, and appreciated the support they have received since opening.

“We’re delighted to bring this to Wintersville. Everyone has given us wonderful support,” said Drew.

Also on hand for the ribbon cutting were the Pattersons’ staff of five baristas, a representative of the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rev. Michael Gossett, pastor of Triumph of the Cross, who delivered a blessing for the business.
