Power mechanics and auto body collision students at Jefferson County Joint Vocational School assisted the Steubenville Shrine Club by updating a bike for the organization. Power mechanics instructor Fred Jones said club member Donnie Moore brought the 1963 Sportsman Simplex motorcycle in at the beginning of the school year and students installed an electric start and rewired the vehicle. It was then repainted in the original colors by Russ Achhammer’s auto body students and Off The Wall Signs of Wintersville provided the decal work. The bike, which was last restored in 1971, is shown with juniors Victoria White, Landon Wertjes and Gabe Bocek and will be featured in area parades. (Contributed)
