JOINS STAFF: Julia LoPresto has joined the staff at Cedar One Realty in its Wintersville office.
Born and raised in Steubenville, Lopresto brings knowledge and insights that come from being a lifelong resident. She said she is committed to helping area residents find the perfect home. LoPresto said she will work to understand the unique needs and desires of clients.

TRAINING: Colt Barnhart of Scio is one of 12 cadets chosen to train to become a natural resources officer for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Watercraft. Those officers work to protect state parks, nature preserves, forests and waterways.
“Protecting our natural resources is a vital part of our mission at ODNR and the natural resources officers take on rigorous training to not only protect our outdoor spaces but the people who enjoy them every day,” said Mary Metz, director of the ODNR. “We’re proud of these cadets and the dedication they are pouring into this training program to become highly skilled officers.”
Currently in field training, Barnhart was selected from among 592 applicants for the program.
SOFTWARE TRAINING: Ohio’s Workforce Development Board 16, in cooperation with Springboard, is offering software engineering training, with the potential for remote work in the IT field. The online program requires nine to 10 months at about 20 hours a week around to complete, and training can be arranged around an individual’s schedule.
Requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent, and a real interest in computer technology. The program is free for those who qualify for WIOA assistance. This program comes with support to ensure student success including an industry-experienced mentor, student support coach and career counseling. Classes form monthly.
