Shoe Sensation to celebrate one year in Weirton
WEIRTON — Shoe Sensation will celebrate its one-year anniversary in Weirton with a weekend of activities.
“We love being part of this community,” said Cecil Toner, local store leader. “Serving our neighbors through local charitable partnerships has been a major focus for us since we opened. It seems natural to open our doors with some fun and activities to say ‘thank you’ for weaving us into the fabric of Weirton.” The Weirton store has partnered with the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society to raise funds for their work locally. Through November and December, Shoe Sensation will work with the Weirton Veterans of Foreign Wares for the Socks for Troops program.
“We plant our stores in smaller cities and towns like Weirton where we can offer large-scale name-brand selection with small-town customer service,” said CEO Dave Schoengart. “We partner with local charities and participate actively in local events because we think it’s important to help make our communities the best they can be.”
Three days of events are planned at the store, located at 268 Three Springs Drive, including:
¯ Friday: The Turn Around Quick Bits food truck from noon to 6 p.m.; face painting from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; all-day refreshments and an all-day coloring contest.
¯ Nov. 4 and 5: Face painting from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the Turn Around Quick Bites food truck from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; coloring contests and refreshments all day.
Throughout the weekend, the store will offer the opportunity to enter to win either a $500 shopping spree or free shoes for their entire immediate family. Additional specials, discounts and mystery cards will be available through Nov. 5.
