The Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District held its 79th-annual meeting and banquet Oct. 30 at the St. Florian Event Center in Wintersville. Among those honored during the evening were, from left, front, brothers Bob Posgai and Fred Posgai, who were named winners of the 2023 Distinguished Service Award; and Wally and Mary Sadowski of Kolb Orchard, who were named winners of the 2023 Conservation Cooperator of the Year Award; and back, Duayne Wetherell, board vice chair; Ken Perkins, treasurer; Shawn Dougherty, secretary; Mark Nelson, president; and Andrew Morris.
