East Ohio College offers EGCC students options
CALCUTTA — Assistance for displaced Eastern Gateway Community College students is available from East Ohio College.
EOC is offering an accelerated priority admissions process and rapid transfer credit evaluation to help ease the anxiety of students who may be unfamiliar with the transfer process or have fears about how to complete their education in a timely manner.
“At EOC our core values are we care, and we believe we will be able to demonstrate those core values in assisting and supporting all potential students,” said EOC Samantha Esposito. “With our nursing program being accelerated, we have found that we have been able to have liberal transfer options for potential students. EOC is able to provide transfer options that allow students to start right into nursing or industry-specific courses for those students transferring from EGCC.”
EOC has instituted a temporary waiver of application fees for all programs for EGCC students, in addition to waiving the nursing program seat fee for EGCC students who are admitted to the associate degree in nursing program. Students transferring from EGCC are being offered priority application processing for institutional grants, and federal financial aid is available to those who qualify.
“We have been receiving inquiries from current nursing students and have been able to do a transfer of credit analysis in less than 24 hours and let those students know exactly what courses they have left in our program, when those courses will be offered and when they will complete the program,” said Tammy Clutter, director of nursing at EOC.
East Ohio College is located just minutes off the Calcutta exit of state Routes 11 and 7 and U.S. Route 30. Many programs and courses are offered in hybrid format, allowing students to complete coursework online combined with in-person labs and clinical rotations. EOC structures all programs to be completed in as little as 18 months.
In addition to nursing, the college’s academic offerings include business administration, cybersecurity, dental assisting, medical office administration, clinical medical assistant, and medical coding.
East Ohio College (formerly Ohio Valley College of Technology) was founded in 1886 and has a long history of providing quality education in the Ohio Valley and Tri-State Area. EOC is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and is authorized by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools and the Ohio Board of Nursing.
