Recognition

Steubenville City Council marked the arrival of Seven Ranges Entertainment at the Fort Steuben Mall by passing a resolution recognizing the contribution the new business is already making to the local economy and psyche. City officials say the privately owned, 80,000-square-foot entertainment complex is filling the mall parking lot with customers, and “sparking community pride and economic growth” in the area. Seven Ranges is owned by the Ferguson family — Derrick, Lisa, Ron and Robby — and they recently had a big chunk of the pothole-plagued mall parking lot patched at their own expense. City Manager Jim Mavromatis, Councilman at large Joel Walker and Sixth Ward Councilman Mike Hernon presented the resolution to state Rep. Ron Ferguson, R-Wintersville, during Tuesday’s meeting.
