EARNS CERTIFICATION: Wayne Everhart, funeral director for Everhart-Bove Funeral Homes, has earned his certified crematory operator designation from the National Funeral Directors Association. The NFDA program is a voluntary certification program that helps funeral directors better serve the needs of families that desire cremation.

Daniel Bove Jr., owner of Everhart-Bove Funeral Homes, stated that as cremation rates increase, it is important that his funeral home staff continues to provide the best practices for safe, proper and ethical cremation operations.

After a long career in local funeral service, Everhart continues to be active in providing service through the latest educational training.

SELECTED: Michael P. Gray, director of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County, has been selected for induction into the Monaca Community Hall of Fame Class of 2024. The ceremony will take place on Oct. 20 in Monaca, Pa. The Monaca Community Hall of Fame is committed to honor residents, former or present, who have contributed to the history, development and character of the Beaver County community.

He is being recognized in his hometown for his community service and professional contributions in Beaver and Jefferson counties. He worked as extension service manager for Beaver County Library System from January 1992 to November 2002. He joined the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County library system as assistant director in November 2022.

Gray was actively involved in community service in Monaca including the Monaca Volunteer Fire Department. Currently, he is a member of the Steubenville Kiwanis Club, board member of the Ohio Valley Pool of Jefferson Health Plan and is a volunteer for the Boy Scouts.
