Students speak with police officials
Seniors in Steubenville High School’s Health Informatics program at Pugliese STEM Academy visited the Steubenville Police Department on Nov. 12, where they learned about law enforcement’s role in detecting illegal drug sales. Teacher Eliza Kelley said students have been researching the role officials have in controlling and reducing the supply and distribution of drugs, particularly fentanyl. Participating in the discussion were students Makina Barlow-Tapp, Chloe Du, A’ryiah Jones, and Capt. John Lemal, the latter who serves as task force commander. Health Informatics is a multidisciplinary field that integrates information technology, data science and health care to enhance the quality and efficiency of patient care and health services. Jayden Cooper and Police Chief Kenny Anderson also participated. (Contributed photo)
