CADIZ — WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital received a grant from BHE GT&S to purchase a new recumbent cross-trainer bike for its cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program.

“The cardiac and pulmonary rehab departments are very grateful to BHE GT&S for their generosity,” said Pam Burkhart, director of cardiopulmonary services at Harrison Community Hospital. “The upgrade of this equipment will make it possible for our program to offer top-of-the-line rehabilitation services with the newest equipment to patients in this area and surrounding communities.”

Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is pivotal for individuals recovering from cardiac incidents or severe respiratory conditions. This new cardio equipment enhances safety with advanced features, fostering a supportive environment for patients of all ages.

“It has always been our mission to invest in the communities where we live and work,” said Jason Harshbarger, state policy director for BHE GT&S.

BHE GT&S is an interstate natural gas transmission and storage company headquartered in Glen Allen, Va., and an indirect subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
