McDonald’s raising funds to help OVAC All-Star Band
WHEELING — For the 44th year, several area McDonald’s restaurants will be partnering to support the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference All-Star Marching Band.
Owner/operators of participating locations will be raising funds with a Digital Fundraiser Day, April 25, with 20 percent of all sales purchased through the McDonald’s app at those locations going to the band.
Participating McDonald’s restaurants include: 825 East Main St, Barnesville; 300 Hanover St, Martins Ferry; 44193 Fairground Road, Caldwell; 223 5th St., Beverly, Ohio; 145 N. Main St, Woodsfield; 67800 Mall Road Ohio Valley Mall, St. Clairsville; 300 28th St Imperial Plaza, Bellaire; 66640 Bel-Mor Road, Belmont; 1514 Main St., Follansbee; 409 Lafayette Ave., Moundsville; 101 Kruger St., Wheeling; 211 Warwood Ave., Wheeling; and 210 Cabela Drive, Triadelphia.
“We are proud to have these connections in the communities that we serve,” said Wheeling McDonald’s owner/operator Robert Stoltz. “As McDonald’s owner/operators within the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference, we are proud to come together to show our support for our young musicians. Our hope is that the local communities will come out to support their high schools and help us make the OVAC All-Star Marching Band Digital Fundraiser Day a success throughout the state.”
McDonald’s owner/operators throughout OVAC came up with the fundraiser as a way to support band members, who have been selected to perform from the communities they serve. Each participating restaurant will donate a minimum of $250.
Each year the OVAC All-Star Marching Band performs during half-time during the OVAC All-Star Game, which, this year, will be July 19 at Wheeling Island Stadium. The band is made up of students from students throughout the OVAC conference, which includes southeastern Ohio and northern West Virginia.
Additionally, one member of the All-Star Band will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from OVAC area McDonald’s owner operators.
