Moe’s on Main has a new look and new offerings

Warren Scott A VARIETY OF GOODS — While chatting with Lori Thomson, left, Yvonne Matus of Lore City, Ohio, took a photo of a craft that will be the product of an upcoming class to be held at Moe’s on Main in Follansbee.

FOLLANSBEE — Visitors to Moe’s on Main will find a wider variety of crafts and related items as well as an expanded selection of Amish-made food thanks to a revamp of the store by original owner Monica Rotellini-Myers and a new partnership with A Touch of Amish.

Kevin Carroll, owner of A Touch of Amish, said he’s looking forward to offering a large assortment of jellies, jams, relishes, salsa and other jarred goods through the store at 1031 Main St.

Myers noted the store also will be selling Amish-produced deli-style meats and cheeses, fry pies and other treats as well as hot drinks, candy apples and Rada cutlery.

Carroll said the store provides a great showcase for people to learn about his many products, which he also sells online.

“Our slogan is, ‘We bring Amish Country to your doorstep,'” he said, adding his goods come from Amish producers in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Carroll said even at a time when online sales have become more common, many appreciate being able to make a quick stop into a local specialty store like Moe’s on Main for items they can’t find everywhere.

Myers said the two also are working with others to plan craft vendor fairs at Brooke Hills Park in June and October, with details to be announced.

She said with the help of her mother, Carol Boyce; and daughter, Kyrsten; she has installed more shelving in which to display the many items created by 45 area producers of crafts and other hand-made items who sell their goods through consignment.

Myers also has added a section for assorted materials used to produce crafts and other projects.

The store also hosts classes offering instruction to adults and youth in creating a variety of crafts, paintings and other art.

Announcements for them can be found on the business’ Facebook page.
