Women’s Wellness Day Saturday

STEUBENVILLE — The Women of the Rotary Club of Steubenville have finalized the schedule for their Women’s Wellness Day, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Eastern Gateway Community College.

The theme is “Be Healthy, Be Happy, Be Inspired and Inspire Others” in conjunction with the Rotary International 2019 theme of “Be the Inspiration.” “Women will be able to hear from those who work directly with diabetes and heart disease and those who work to inspire women everyday to be better,” noted Kathy Musso, event chair. There also will be a special makeover segment by Lisa Mort of Legal Hair.

The schedule includes:

¯ 10:15 a.m.: Amy DeMattio, a certified diabetes educator with 34 years of nursing experience, will provide information on the disease that affects many women. DeMattio is a graduate of the Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing and has worked in the emergency room, surgery, endoscopy and with diabetes education.

¯ 11 a.m.: Lisa Kush will discuss “Women and Heart Disease.” She is a certified nurse practitioner receiving her degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Shea works directly with Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Rafael Schmulevich.

¯ Noon: Sherrie Dunlevy will present “Step Out of the Story and Step Into Greatness,” sharing her journey regarding the death of her son, her struggles, her triumphs and her heart as she inspires people to find their purpose.

¯ 12:45 p.m.: Lisa Mort, creative director at Legal Hair and Day Spa, will do a makeover on a family.

¯ 1 p.m.: Former Steubenville resident Natalie Pasquarella, news anchor for WNBC-TV in New York, will share her story of how she was inspired by the women in her life and how she tries to inspire others with a busy life as news anchor, wife and mother. She began her career as a news anchor, reporter and producer at WTOV-TV.

¯ 2:15 p.m.: The Rev. Ashley Steele, executive director of Urban Mission Ministries in Steubenville, shares insight on the difference just one person can make in the lives of others.

There will be numerous health-related and other vendors regarding women’s issues. Healthy snacks and beverages will be provided. The free event is sponsored by Trinity Health System, Em-Media Adverting, Eastern Gateway Community College, Legal Hair and Day Spa and Rotary District 6650.
