LaBelle Chapter marks 100th

STEUBENVILLE -- LaBelle Chapter No. 414, Order of the Eastern Star, recently celebrated its 100th anniversary with a visit by Kelly Cholodewitsch, worthy grand matron, and Dennis Lawson, worthy grand patron.

Sara Joe Peeler, worthy matron, and Howard McClure, worthy patron, presided at the meeting. Other honored guests were Marilyn Rowley, Sue Kerns and Carol Jones, past grand matrons.

Grand officers attending were: Margaret Wheeler, associate grand matron, and Cindy Chadwell, associate grand conductress; Deputy Grand Matron of District No. 13, Cathy Maurer; grand representatives, Marlene Wolf (Ontario), Meghan Miller (Maryland) and Barbara Stuart (Michigan); worthy matron, Diane Phillips (Bolivar); worthy patron, Ray McClelland (Bolivar), Mark Yocum (Toronto); and Larry Kerns (Kingston).

Past matrons of LaBelle Chapter attending were Roberta Gilday, Clara McClure, Opal Kleineke, Lou Anne Craven, Sandy Moxley, Mary Gail Monroe, Carolyn Bickerstaff, Arlene Sue Davis and Eileen Alloggia and past patrons Howard McClure and Ben Moxley.

Brothers honored by their Masonic fraternity were Ben Moxley, Howard McClure, Ken Cline, Mark Yocum and Dennis Lawson.

Fifty-year members were: Lou Anne Craven, Roberta Gilday, Eileen Alloggia, Dorothy Stingle, Sandy Moxley (LaBelle); Anne Graham and Ellsworth Graham (Toronto); Sue Kerns and Larry Kerns (Kingston); Mary Anna Cotter (Carroll); and Marilyn Rowley (Grove City).

Others recognized were: OES home trustee, Barbara Stuart; District No. 14 associate president, Clara McClure; grand page to District No. 14 DGM, Audrey Rainsberger; grand page to District No. 13 DGM, Helen Wentworth; grand aide to District No. 14 DGM, Mark Yocum; and charities director, Diane Phillips.

Protems for the evening were: LeAnn Gibbons, associate conductress; Anne Graham, Electa; and Mark Yocum, associate patron. Prompter was Argie Cline. Pages were Haley Gorney and Dorothy Newbold.

Honorary memberships were presented to WGM Kelly Cholodewitsch and her husband and WGP Dennis Lawson and his wife by Clara McClure and Howard McClure.

Committees for the evening were: Registration, Mary Gail Monroe and Lou Anne Craven; programs, Clara McClure; and favors, Lou Anne Craven.

A baked potato bar was held prior to the meeting, and refreshments were served after the meeting by a committee consisting of Clara McClure and Sara Joe Peeler and their families.
