Wednesday at the Serbian Picnic Grounds off Kings Creek Road, Weirton, will be the last "Chicken Blast" this summer for the Serbian Men's Club of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church. A tradition of five decades, the "Chicken Blast" fundraiser features whole chickens for $8. Call (304) 748-9866 on Wednesday between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. to order one. They must be picked up by 6 p.m. Picnic hours are from noon to 9 p.m. with last call at 8 p.m. Mitch Zack monitors the chicken-cooking process.
