Camera club winners announced; photos to be on display at library

WINTERSVILLE -- The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club held its annual competition on Sept. 17 at Two Ridges Presbyterian Church in Wintersville.
The judges were professional photographers Amber Faith Dawson, Paul Cowey and Brandi Birkheimer. More than 400 photos were submitted to be judged in 16 categories. The winners were:
Scenic: First place, John Hanish; second, Anissa Wellington; and third, Sam Rees.
Sunrise/Sunset: First place, Andy Tindor; second, Andy Tindor; and third, John Hanish.
Special Effects: First place, Barb Momyer; and second and third, Deb Snider.
Bokeh: First place, Andy Tindor; second, Becky Mihopulos; and third, Karen Felix.
Pets: First place, Barb Momyer; second, Andy Tindor; and third, John Hanish.
Black and White: First place, Becky Mihopulos; second, John Hanish; and third, Sam Rees.

The Best of Show Award went to Andy Tindor.
The winning photographs will be on display at the Main Branch of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County at 407 S. Fourth St., Steubenville, during November and December.
The next meeting will be an outing on Oct. 15 to the Hightower Brewing Co. at 3445 county Road 16, Rayland. It will be a workshop and starts at 6:30 p.m. The camera club welcomes anyone who has an interest in photography. For details, visit the website at www.uovcc.org or Facebook page.
