The Steubenville Assembly No. 212 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls received its charter on Sept. 21. The assembly has worked for two years to reach this goal, according to a spokesperson, who explained that the charter was presented by Whitney Poma, supreme deputy for the State of Ohio Rainbow Girls. The ceremony also was attended by Grand Worthy Adviser Celine Freetage and numerous other grand officers and grand deputies. The assembly is for girls age 11-20. Rainbow teaches teamwork and social responsibility and instills a concern for humanity and the planet, the spokesperson noted.
