Wellsburg group seeking
vendors for Maker’s Market
WELLSBURG — Individuals who make crafts, art, jewelry or other items are encouraged to sign up for the inaugural Downtown Wellsburg Maker’s Market.
The event will take place on Nov. 30, which is Small Business Saturday, and will feature unique gifts for the holiday season. The market will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be held at 735 Charles St., the former Legend’s Restaurant, in downtown Wellsburg.
Applications are due Tuesday. To get an application or for information, e-mail Alex Weld at email@example.com. There is a $10 fee for a 10-foot space. Spaces are limited and will be filled as applications are received.
“We think this will be a great event for people to come by and do lots of holiday shopping,” Weld said. “It will be held in conjunction with another artist market across the street, at Martha’s Art Gallery, so there will be plenty of foot traffic downtown.”
The event is being held on Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting small businesses and communities across the country. Attendees will also receive free tote bags and other freebies, courtesy of American Express, founder of Small Business Saturday.
Downtown Wellsburg is a volunteer organization seeking to create an enabling environment for a more vibrant community and business-friendly downtown, a spokesperson noted. The group seeks to do this by hosting events, supporting businesses, improving public spaces to beautify downtown and increase foot traffic, and fostering community pride by empowering community members to be a part of the revitalization process.
